Southwest Empowerment High School Awarded Part of Million Dollar Grant

ATT Project Grad $1M AwardWe are pleased to announce that Soutwest Schools Empowerment High School is one of four schools selected to receive a $1,000,000 grant funded by  AT&T through Project GRAD Houston.

Houston’s Project GRAD has demonstrated success in helping students achieve on-time high school graduation, increased college enrollment, and completion of college certificates and degrees. This exemplary Houston-area program was then selected as one of 10 recipients nationwide to share in $9.25 million of AT&T Aspire’s award.

This award coincides with the official start of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for fall 2019 college-bound students.. FAFSA completion is strongly linked to college enrollment: 90 percent of high school seniors who complete FAFSA attend college directly from high school, but currently only about 60% apply.f
