Bianca Clark – Principal, Southwest Empowerment High School
Bianca Clark began her career in education in 1996 as a high school special education teacher in Killeen ISD. She moved to Houston in 1997 to complete her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Prairie View A&M University and began working as a middle school English teacher in HISD. Over the past 22 years, Ms. Clark has held various roles in districts across the Houston area including high school English teacher and Dean of Instruction in Fort Bend ISD, Assistant Principal in KIPP Houston, as well as served as a consultant for Region 10 ESC in the Dallas area. Her most recent role has been as Southwest Schools’ Multilingual Director for the last two years.
Ms. Clark believes that the campus leader is vital to student success and achievement. She also believes that leaders must nurture relationships and encourage collaboration among all stakeholders by creating a learning environment that is culturally responsive and provides opportunities for families and community involvement.
